What is eFormation?

Since 2012, VTS has offered the eFormation learning community to help ministry leaders envision and implement digital strategies for the church. eFormation is dedicated to finding ways to bring the work of formation, discipleship, and community organizing that churches already do, online.

If you are looking for resources on how to be a bring your faith into the digital world in a way that is responsible, sustainable, and builds towards the future without forgetting the past, then eformation is for you.

2018 Flagship Conference: January 12-13 at Virginia Theological Seminary

You are invited to attended the 2018 eformation conference in Alexandria, Virginia. Registration is open for this two day event. (Webinar access will also be available: details to follow.)

Friday, January 12 – Leadership Summit
Gather to hear and share trends in faith formation. Convene conversations will include:

  • Faith Formation in the 21st Century
  • Digital Literacy and/as Religious Leadership
  • Digital Fatigue
  • Congregations and Change in the Digital Age

Friday evening: The "Mind-Brain Education Masterclass" will share the latest in educational neuroscience research with educators and communicators.

Saturday, January 13 – Digital Media for Ministry Workshops
Workshops bring in nationally-known leaders who are at the forefront of digital media for ministry. Some of the workshops will be available for distance viewing and learning. Workshops such as:

  • Let's Make an Effective Welcome Video on a Dime
  • Dispelling the Myths of Social Media
  • Integrating Money, Mission, and Media
  • Digital Evangelism
  • Learning Hybrid Faith Formation
